Winston Hubert McIntosh, widely known as Peter Tosh, was a Jamaican reggae musician who co-founded the band The Wailers with Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer. Tosh was a Rastafari promoter known for his powerful vocals and socially conscious lyrics. He went on to have a successful solo career after leaving The Wailers, releasing songs such as "Legalize It," "Equal Rights," and "Get Up, Stand Up." He was murdered during a home invasion when he was 42 years old.
